raconteur rock

so i'm listening to carolina drama, the last song from the new raconteurs
disc and LOVING it. we've got some pretty sweet seats when they come to the
ryman the end of september. close enough michelle can make eye contact
with mr. white.(back off Jack!) now i don't know any music terminology but
the best part of this song and the part i am looking forward to the most at
the show (if they play it live, they did last time we saw them) is towards
the end as it builds, and builds, and builds and the story in the song
becomes clearer (even though as questions are answered, more are asked).
if we are lucky enough to make it to the show, i can just see sprout
dancing like this in mommy's belly:

Michelle at 23 weeks

So for those who aren't close around. Here I am on the phone with sister at the 'Dave Macon Days' in Cannonsburg this weekend. For those unfamiliar, it's basically a free event of hillbilly music and competitions, clogging, buckdancing, carnival food and crafty little booths everywhere. Corny to some, but we absolutly love going. We go every year with my sister and her family. This year we had the thrill of Jeff's dad (aka. Pops) and my dad going. Jeff's brother and his wife went too. We got cut short on the night due to rain, but everyone had fun. It was really nice and Pops even volunteered to be the babysitter next year...at the event! We can't wait. What fun!

Sprout at 23 weeks

So here it is...the picture of Sprout we've been patiently waiting for. I was going to label it like I did the last one, but didn't get the chance to and was anxious to post. You should be able to see everything pretty clearly, especially the face profile (right). Sprout's curled up and you can see the leg, knee and foot to the left. To the right of the foot and left of the chin, you'll see the palm of the hand. The hand is open and the fingers are the little dots just above the palm that starts to run in to the foot and toes. It's hard to see where the foot ends and hand begins, but It's cool to see such detail. These images turned out so much more clearly than last time. We're pretty excited about it. It's amazing how much more we can see this time. They develop so quickly! Anyways, hope you enjoy the photo. If you click on the picture, it will enlarge and you can see it even better.

Oh - and for the record...we ARE waiting to find out what the sex is. It wasn't nearly as hard this time to not know and we're enjoying the suspense. Sorry for those who are looking forward to knowing. You'll just have to be patient with us and try to enjoy the suspense as well.

July 14th Visit

So...the appointment went very well today. They did another ultrasound and found that the placenta has moved and there is no more threat of placenta previa. Although I wasn't too worried about it, it feels good to be able to put that out of my head.

We didn't get the weight or measurements this visit but did get more pictures. Unfortunately we did not have the chance to scan them today so we'll have to make that post tomorrow. I go back August 13 for my next visit when they'll test for the gestational diabetes and do other blood work. After that, we'll start going every 2 weeks. The doctor approved our trip to Florida for Labor day weekend, but will see me just before we leave to make sure all is well. It was a short and sweet visit. I think I'll be starting a water aerobics class at Baptist this week too. I've heard a lot of great things about it and it's just for pregnant women so I won't be the only 'big belly' in a bikini out there!

More tomorrow...
